Okadaic acid is a causative agent of diarrhetic shellfish poisoning isolated from the sponge Halichondria Okadai.  Okadaic Acid exhibits various activities as follows:
Contractile effect on smooth muscles in Ca2+ free solution.
Non-TPA type promoting agent of carcinogenesis.
Acceleration of protein phosphorylation through the specific inhibition of phosphatase.
[Solubility]
Soluble in ether, acetone and ethyl acetate.
Very slightly soluble in chloroform and methanol.
Practically insoluble in water and n-hexane

[Toxicity]  LD50 192 ug/kg (i.p. in mouse)
[Warnings and precautions]  This product is quite toxic.
