美国科学信息研究所（ISI:Institute of Scientific Information）位于美国费城，是全世界收集和编辑科学论文以及论文引用情况信息的专门要威机构。目前我们常用的衡量基础研究水平的SCI ( Science Citation Index)就是由他们收集编辑的。2000年3月6日，ISI的期刊引用报告公布了新统计出的发表于1998年之前的科学论文被引次数排名处于前25位的科学杂志的名。 (ISI Journal Citation Reports)
