周嘉伟

周嘉伟，男，1962年10月出生，研究员。1998年起担任博士生导师。1985年毕业于江苏南通医学院，获学士学位，1988年获硕士学位。1991-92年先后在英国剑桥大学和日本冈山大学做访问学者。1996年在英国帝国理工医学院获博士学位。1996-1998年在美国Hahnemann大学作博士后研究。1998年入选中科院“百人计划”并回国工作。现为生化与细胞研究所脑发育与修复研究组组长。



研究方向：

在脑发育方面，我们着重研究：（1）神经干细胞增殖和分化的基本过程及其调控；（2）中脑黑质多巴胺能神经元发育的分子与细胞基础。通过这些研究来回答神经元是如何产生的，它们的生长和分化是如何调控的等发育神经生物学的基本问题。同时我们还探讨这些基本过程与中枢神经系统退行性疾病的诊断和治疗之间所具有的潜在联系。因此，在脑修复方面，我们以较常见的中枢神经系统退行性疾病之一帕金森病(Parkinson’s disease)为研究对象，利用动物模型和临床病理标本探讨其发病机制，通过分子生物学技术、蛋白质组学技术、体外神经细胞培养和动物整体模型等的综合运用，力求从基因或蛋白质水平解析多巴胺能神经元死亡的原因，进而发展和建立神经保护的有效途径，以便为建立针对帕金森病和其它中枢神经系统退行性疾病的诊断和治疗方法打下坚实基础。
